"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made."
Psalm 139:13–14It was December 28, 2024 — our wedding day. As my husband, Cody, and I finished our vows ("for better or for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health..."), we had no idea how soon those words would be tested.
About ten months into marriage, I began walking through health and medical challenges. While most people would see that as a calamity, Cody stayed. He didn't just stay — he walked with me, encouraged me, empowered me, and prayed over me.
Throughout this journey, the question God kept bringing to our hearts was simple: "Do you trust Me?" At times research and worry only left us fatigued and going down rabbit holes. We had to trust Him with every fiber of our being — not the doctors, not our own understanding, but God alone.
This journey has refined our faith, strengthened our marriage more than we ever imagined, and postured our hearts to be aligned with His. We truly walked through "in sickness and in health" as one — and it's something I would never change.
"Dearest, just like Hannah, you are a testimony — and your Samuel has not been forgotten. It is on the way."
